THE RACE MAY BE OVER, BUT RACE ISN'T

As everyone is well aware, deep divisions have been created by the Obama campaign between Obama and Clinton's supporters. Much of the resentment comes from the free pass given by the press and Democratic Party leaders to some of the most damaging cracks and fissures in a person's character ever seen in a candidate for President.

There were also Obama's famous guns and religion comments which alienated most of small town rural America and his underhanded bullying tactics, snide remarks and sexist attitudes towards Clinton which alienated just about all of Clinton's women voters. And then his passive aggressive style which he used to attack by claiming to be the victim, all of which has helped make him the most divisive figure in the history of Democratic politics.

But nothing seemed to divide the party more and cause more anger and resentment than Obama's divisive playing of the race card, the architect of which was James Clyburn of South Carolina.

Obama and the party knows ( or should know) that far from unity, they are right now looking at mass defections with no contributions to either the DNC or the Obama campaign from any of Clinton's supporters. And the stupefying fact is, this is not a disgruntled minority but the majority of the party.Which shows just how out of touch with reality Pelosi, Reid and Dean and super delegates have been.

Everyone in the Obama camp agrees that his first priority was to go about the business of trying to unify the party and Obama stated as recently as yesterday that he was "confident" he could do that. Where that confidence comes from is hard to say. Certainly not from anything connected to reality. And nothing that Obama has ever been able to do in his life. But it didn't take long for even that fantasy to get blown out of the water.

Congressman Clyburn did Obama no favors on PBS last night ( June 4) when he said "there is no doubt that there are people in the Democratic Party who wont vote for Obama because of race".

So, before anyone has even had a chance to take a breath, the Obama campaign was whipping out the race card which is one of the very things Clinton voters resented from the start. And now it's going to get most of them to dig in their heels against Obama even more. And who can blame them? The ugly assertions and underlying message of Clyburn, the subliminal message they are trying to send, the one trick pony that is Clyburn's brainchild, is that if you don't back Obama you are a racist.

Clyburn played the race card in South Carolina and it worked. It not only went unnoticed by the media but 90% of what used to be called the liberal press but which can now be safely described with another "L" word, the lunatic press, took the race bait. Clinton's campaign which should have fought back was passive. The result was that in South Carolina and in every primary since,Obama won 90% of the African American vote.

Judgement was supposed to be one of the hallmarks of Obama's campaign even though everyone on the other side saw that if anything, Obama's judgement left a lot to be desired, especially regarding his 17 year close relationship with Wright. The issue was how he could have continued a close relationship with someone like Wright whose anti American, anti-white and anti-Semitic stances were an integral part of his church. And Obama's judgment for not leaving that church and what it said about him is and was fair game. After all, this is the candidate who proclaimed he had the judgement to be President from day one, and it took him to day 6,253 to sever his relationship with Wright and his church.

Many Chicago journalists have written that they believe it was for political reasons since the church was in the district Obama represented, and if Obama chose to compromise his personal beliefs for his political career that would come as a shock to no one. But Obama has asserted repeatedly that he did not share the beliefs of Wright and many felt, and rightly so, that the issue was not Obama's beliefs but his lack of conviction, not to mention character and judgment that his relationship with Wright brought to light.

But Clyburn has now given people cause to wonder. The race card had already stained and besmirched Obama's candidacy throughout the campaign, but it had been less than 24 hours since Obama talked about post primary unity and an Obama surrogate decided to throw out the race bomb in the typical passive aggressive style that has been the Obama trademark. Attack by playing victim.

Racism as we all know is not an issue. Racism is a disease. And if Clyburn had felt the Democratic party had symptoms of this disease where, by implication, white voters or white members of the party who would not vote for an African American because of racist attitudes, in all his years as a Democratic congressman and a Democratic party insider, he never said a word. Until last night.

Obviously Clyburn and Obama feel that playing the race card worked to get the nomination and maybe they think it will work to try and bully Clinton voters into supporting him this time around. It wont.

It worked to help secure the nomination ( secure it -- not finalize it which can't happen till the convention) but only because super delegates following the lead of Pelosi and Reid, two people with lower job approval ratings than Bush pushed them into it and they followed.

Clyburn's comments last night dragged an already tawdry and underhanded Obama campaign into the mud where its probably going to stay. Simply the word "unity" uttered by anyone remotely connected to the Obama campaign is going to remind people of all the reasons the disunity exists in the first place.

If Obama is indeed the nominee, he is from a practical point of view, going to have to devise a general election strategy that can win without Clinton supporters and their money, all 18 million of them and the influence they will have on independents, because they have lost those voters and wont get them back. And if the party brain trust is feeling that Obama cant win without Clinton voters they should have thought of that before artificially ending the whole process because of their own fears.

Clinton is scheduled to make a speech on Saturday. Everyone knows what the party wants Clinton to say. And if she says all the right things about party unity, Clinton voters understand this is what she is expected to say. It wont mean a thing to her supporters.

There are last straws and there is grasping for straws and Obama went past the last straw with Clinton voters a long time ago but just for good measure Clyburn inadvertently piled one on. Now whistling in the dark they are claiming "confidence" in party unity. But they are grasping for straws and Clyburn's clumsy attempts at "unifying" the party by trying to brand those who don't go along with the program racist just made it a whole lot worse. Irreparably worse.

News reports say that Clinton is going to concede on Saturday. I'm not so sure. She may very well decide enough is enough. But most of the media is reporting that she is going to "suspend" her campaign. And, as usual, most of the media are too stupid and incompetent to know that suspending and ending are two different things.

If Clinton just suspends her campaign and does not concede she is leaving the door open for super delegates to still cast their votes for her in August at the convention. If she does not release her delegates it will mean that while she may not continue formal campaigning, she has not withdrawn. That is the difference between conceding and suspending. The media might have been told that Clinton is going to suspend her campaign and in their usual stupid inept jumping to the wrong conclusion might be assuming that means she is going to quit when she isn't.

On the other hand she may very well do just that and concede. But if she suspends her campaign, if that is the word she uses, if she does not release her delegates, she is not quitting. And a few more comments like the one made by Clyburn could be the reason why.

thanks Marc, again you have hit the nail on the head...

I might add that Obama could have set the party on the path to unity if he had simply not stolen those votes.

His removing his name from the ballot in Michigan was political game playing at the expense of the democratic process but even then he could have redeemed himself.

Hillary even showed him the way he could do it by stating that the uncommitted Michigan delegates "would most likely" vote for him. Yet he insisted on taking the low road of stealing votes. Stealing delegates.

Both paths could have taken him to the nomination yet he chose the low road.

This is perhaps the greatest example of why he is supremely unfit to be president of the united states.

It is also the reason that from that very moment there was no way back to party unity.

The list of unfortunate ramifications are almost without end.

Some would say America has lost its way but I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in Hillary's actions. Her respect for the American democratic process gave me hope. Harold Ickes showed that our democratic principles are worth standing up for. He demanded it.

We Americans are united in making sure this happens.

We will not tolerate Obama's behavior and there is no redemption for him now.

The democratic party leadership can't understand this because they simply have no understanding of our respect for America the the blood that was been spilled to protect these beliefs.

It really is that simple.

Keep fighting for Hillary.

Change is coming.

This time our votes are going to count.

I was there in Washington DC when stealing of delegates happened. I could not believe this is happening in my party. And they expect me to fall in line and support the guy? This is what you call the Audacity of Corruption authored by Dean's Gang. I don't want to be a part of this party.

I agree with this post, but I would note one error only because, being from South Carolina, I want to make sure the WORLD knows who to point the finger at. You state that it was "James Clyburn of North Carolina." Correction: it was James Clyburn of SOUTH Carolina who played the race card. I know this is a minor point, but I want people everywhere to know exactly who to blame!

Great post and great comments. I was just telling a friend of mine last night that I think Obama's campaign has set back race relations in this country 30 years. Those of us who refuse to vote for him under any circumstances are doing so because of character and qualification issues. Add to that the DNC's illegal efforts to drag Obama over the finish line, even though the voters have made it increasingly clear in the past three months that they prefer Hillary, and you have a prescription for defeat in November.

Thanks someone said what I was thinking.I been concerned since NH when "out of no-where" someone mentions the BRADY??BRADLY effect.
I know the 1st person I saw say the insanity(about whites not voting for a black man) was on CNN.
It was also the 1st time I saw Chicago radio guy,ROLAND MARTIN and he said it.I didn't want to believe it; but now I sure. This was a tactical decision to get the "AA" vote away from Clinton, before SC!PLEASE INVESTIGATE!!
There's more examples, yhis to me was the "JUMP BOARD"! I'm letting John McCain know as well. They shouldn't get away with this again.

Thanks, Mark, for an eye opening article. The Clintons have long been supporters of the African American community. They are as far from racist as you can get. I have worked with many ethnic groups and have been so supportive of their causes. They have added a dimension to my life as a white person and made me whole. The Obama machine and the DNC are rude, calculating people. If he wins in November, the next four years will be as bad or worse on the left side as it was on the right side. I am staying home or writing in Hillary's name on the ballot (in our state it will not be a vote for either Obama or McCain). No matter what the Dems do now, I will not support them in anyway or in any campaign, national, state, or local. Even the British, Germans, and Canadians think Americans are out of their minds supporting a man with so little experience in foreign affairs or diplomacy. The people around him are so arrogant and self centered that the first time the go overseas, the will make such classic bungles that our already tarnished reputation will turn to stone. God help us.

Providing specifics (how nobama of me) on passive-aggressive personality traits.

From Wikipedia:
There are certain behaviors that help identify passive-aggressive behavior.

Ambiguity
Avoiding responsibility by claiming forgetfulness
Blaming others
Chronic lateness and forgetfulness
Complaining
Does not express hostility or anger openly - (e.g., expresses it instead by leaving notes)
Fear of authority
Fear of competition
Fear of dependency
Fear of intimacy (infidelity as a means to act out anger)
Fosters chaos
Intentional inefficiency
Making excuses
Losing things
Lying
Obstructionism
Procrastination
Resentment
Resists suggestions from others
Sarcasm
Stubbornness
Sullenness
Willful withholding of understanding
A passive-aggressive may not have all of these behaviors, and may have other non-passive-aggressive traits.

Bawaky in a nutshell.
Thanks for the post, as always.

The DNC is not the party that I signed up for so many years ago. I thought the FL issue in 2000 was bad, but it pales in comparison to the MI and FL debacle that the DNC allowed. If anyone should have been penalized, it should be Obama. HE would not allow a revote because he KNEW he would lose. Dean, Brazille...and all the hierarchy in the DNC has got to go...just like the super delegates. It is time to take OUR party back! These people have rewarded Obama for the dirtiest campaign I have ever seen!

The DNC is not the party that I signed up for so many years ago.

The best thing that can happen to the democratic party now is to be taught a lesson. they cant do a thing with half the party revolting and refusing to vote for Obama or contribute to the DNC.And they do need to be taught a lesson and the party purged and a stinging defeat in November with Obama bringing the congress down with him will be enough to purge them.

The old adage, "the devil you know is better than the devil you dont know" applies to Obama more than any other candidate in history.

and in a great twist of irony that fits into the "you cant make this stuff up" category, the word verifcation for me to post this is "nauz" -- which is what more than half the party thinks of Obama, Pelosi,Dean Brazille and the current state of the Democratic party.

It could be different perhaps in this case, but "defeated" candidates do not end their campaigns, but merely suspend them, so as to be able to continue to receive donations from their supporters.

If my memory serves me correctly, that's what Mr. Edwards did.

I have no difficulty with your analysis.

Great post, Marc, as usual.

I am one of the many Democrats that will be exiting on the 10th to become an INDY. I believe that the Democratic Party is no longer a democratic party.

Today he announced that it was "His" party now, so he can have it.

And I will be voting for John McCain, which will be the first time in my 37 years of voting that I will be voting for a Republican.

Marc you are my HERO... you have once again tapped into the feelings of all Hillary supporters... as for the MSM, well, they're beyond redemption at this point. That said, payback is a bitch... their time will come.

I too, await hearing the word 'suspend' on Saturday.
Keep the faith!

I am so glad that I am not the only one picking up a the subliminal messages that were divisive, demeaning and intended to destroy the Clintons.
The Obama Camp, the Democratic Paty Leaders for Obama and the elite media were using these subliminal messages/dog whistle politics very early on. The race card was intentionally played and it was not by the Clintons.

The link below might explain things===check out the video and Q&A section on the video.

thankyou so much, this is exactly how i feel. b.o. long ago burned his bridges with me and it has been the last straw with that blatant stealing of hillary's earned delegates on may 31, 2008, a day we will never ever forget as democrats and as american voters.

i am on the fence of becoming an independent because my goal now after chatting with my sister who volunteered with hillary, is to try whatever i can to donate and help to support those who are true democrats who are representing the people of america, so that they can once again help us to take our party back from within.

the problem right now is that first we must purge our party of the elitist career democrats who don't care about what we tell them in letters and in protest. they must be voted against, and those good ones like tubbs jones and joyner must be given extra help by us in the next elections because they are passionate about serving the people and being true democrats based on our beloved party's principles that have been forgotten out of convenience by our party elders.

i will work to purge the party of any sd's for b.o. and help to support however i can and sd's or surrogates for hillary because these are the true dems that love us the people and know that it is their job to serve the american people, not the american people to serve them...

LET'S EVERYONE WORK TO GET OUR PARTY BACK TO US BY HELPING OUT THOSE LEADERS IN THE MINORITY OF THE PARTY WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT SERVING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE :) that is my job in the next few years. and again nobama never for me :) let's think about starting a positive movement from all of this because i for one don't want to have to vote for republicans for too long in the future because i don't agree with their underlying principles of impeding on equality and choice... but for now i will vote for mccain because he loves america, has a record of civility and service to our country, and he is very moderate not 3rd term bush as the dnc is trying to scare us to believe. the real 3rd term bush is mr. obama himself who has already started his own volume of books of obamaisms and his thinking that flowery speeches will solve everything, and his not listening to the people is dangerous as bush was in not listening to public opinion.

I am not familiar with this blog, having followed a link from the Hillary Clinton website. But it is disturbing to be assaulted by the atmosphere of contention and divisiveness of your headline piece. Hillary will not be the nominee, in all probability. And I can understand her adherents' deep disappointment in this outcome. But one of the two had to lose. And even without the Florida and Michigan compromise, Obama would still have led in pledged delegates. By the rules imposed before the January votes, neither Florida nor Michigan should have had any votes counted. Hillary got more votes than she should have, if strict legality had been followed. You cannot deny that. Now Obama is our candidate. What is all this screeching and wailing and gnashing of teeth? I would have been happy to have Hillary as the nominee, but it turned out otherwise. Think what vote will be best for our country. For me it can never be a vote for McCain.

Hillary got more votes than she should have, if strict legality had been followed. You cannot deny that. Now Obama is our candidate.

First I dont have to deny it because its not an accusation. Your analysis is so wrong it's hard to believe you can make it so let me clear up your misconceptions. The popular vote is NOT a DNC issue. It is also NOT in their purview. They have no say in it, they do not certify it they do not validate it or invalidate it. Only the secretaries of state can do that. And as a matter of legality both elections were certified by their secretaries of state and both were valid and legal and the popular vote of both as a matter of legality were certified. Only the delegate count was a DNC issue. The popular vote counts and accurately reflected exactly what the count is supposed to do -- show who received the most votes. And as I said, as a matter of legality they were both completely legal.

The only issue for the DNC was whether the DELEGATES elected by those votes would be allowed to cast votes at the convention. Clinton's total is accurate, valid and legal and was 300,000 more than Obama's. This is what you cant deny.

If the Democrats had a systemn that was like the Republican sysem and the actual general election whch is winner take all instead of the bizarre apportionment system the Democrats used, Clinton would have beaten Obama by almost 700 delegates.as it was, even with the bizarre system Obama's final count was only 77 more than clinton's out of 4000 when you subtract the 55 from the Michigan compromise that Clinton was disputing.

That is what cant be denied. And that is how close the election was.
To short circuit it and pressure super delegates to vote now instead of letting the process play out was stupid and short sighted.

Unless events cause the super delegates to change their minds by August which is why Clinton is suspending her campaign and not conceding, the democrats will send out a candidate that does not and will not have the backing of the majority of the party. The Democratic system for choosing the strongest candidate failed and super delegates who were supppsed to correct that eventuality also failed.

When the system does not play out the way its supposed to and you get a dishonest result its going to cause anger and protest. No one knows this better than African Americans and unless something changes what the party has to look forward to in August is just that. Anger, protest and probably abandonment.

Donna brazille said on CNN back in Feb when clinton had a commanding lead in declared super delegates that she would resign from the Democratic party if super delegates decided this election.

She is obviously a hypocrite of the worst kind since supers decided the election in Obama's favor and she didnt resign.

It is all so disturbing to me that the Democratic party can so easily be had. Weeks ago, when I realized that the Dem. nominee would deliver an acceptance speech on the 45th anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, I began to believe the DNC had an agenda, it wasn't just my imagination.

Sure enough, Tuesday night, just after CNN declared Obama the presumptive nominee, Roland Martin gleefully pointed out the significance of the August date. Were Obama someone I trusted and believed in, I would be joyful too. Sadly, I am afraid.

Did you check out the video on the above link?. The DNC was there 2006 or before. Makes one wonder about the handpicked DNC candidate. In the video they talked about rap music and how to reach the youth.

I find Obama's behavior very offensive and if more people new what he's been up to they would be mad.

hi,
there is still import to contacting SDs. I emailed them last night and rec'd this email this morning from one:

Thank you for your message. I am a super delegate pledged to support Hillary Clinton. I am doing everything in my power to get her elected. I will stay with her until she releases her delegates.

I am receiving 40 to 50 e-mails daily in support of Hillary. I try to answer them all if only briefly. If every delegate reads and pays attention to the letters that I am receiving, it should bring them over to Hillary's side. Thank you for your work on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

...............

I used this site to send out the emails quickly:
https://www.lobbydelegates.com/default.aspx

i sent this letter along with my reply to a boston globe article:

Dear ;

I urge you to consider who is the stronger candidate to win in November. Many millions of us know it is Senator Clinton. Here is a letter I sent to the Boston Globe in reply to an article by Joan Vennochi.

Dear Ms. Vennochi,

Thank you for bringing the attention to Senator Clinton's powerful voting constituency.

As I have been and am a supporter of hers for years, I have come to truly understand and appreciate the dynamic person within her in this last bit of the contest. Many were expecting her to bow down on June 3rd and get out post-haste. Her June 3rd post-primary and June 4th AIPAC speech clearly demonstrated her leadership qualities in the face of the ultimate roadblock: a symbolic, yet disputable, defeat. The last day of the primary, she won a commanding lead in South Dakota, once again proving her irrefutable viability and obvious preference by voters in an area she wasn't supposed to win, particularly because the 'presumptive nominee' had already been known for over a month. Why would the presumptive nominee lose out so big in the endgame? As she noted in her speech on June 3rd, this fight to the finish engaged more voters and gave significance to the last of the primaries. She ended the primary season ahead in the popular vote. For these reasons, as she noted in her June 3rd speech, her supporters and the almost 18 million who voted for her deserve respect.

To borrow a phrase, Hope and Change is all we Hillary supporters ever wanted after the destructive path George Bush, Jr led us onto. In a show of true leadership, she never ran on that phrase; she ran on the pragmatic goal of that phrase: SOLUTIONS. She wants to move forward, too, but with feet planted firmly on the ground. That is why we are so steadfastly supportive of her.

If the most qualified candidate the Democratic party has had in decades with a sure path to the White House is not supported by the senior leadership of the DNC, then something is terribly awry. This primary season has shown us how flawed the nomination race is, how much power and corruption the DNC embodies, and how media can become the face of propaganda rather than the face of news 24 hours a day without blinking. The word on the street is: the game was never meant to be played by the people, but rather the game was over before it had begun. Fortunately, all is not lost...a new party rises from this reshuffling of the deck. As we chanted on May 31st in Washington DC during the Count the Vote rally: "We will remember... in November".

With best regards,
Sarah Singh

It truly amazes me how in anger some refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. It is so easy to blame the other person because it is too painful to face the truth. McCain and the rest of the republican are cropping up all over the internet stirring this thing up and using us as pawns. All the while standing back and watching us self destruct. If you think for one moment that McCain wanted to run against Barack instead of Clinton--think again. He and his cronies had enough ammo to use against Hillary and Bill to last the rest of the year. No way did McCain want to go up against a man teaching a message of change and hope in today's economy. Add this to his ability to bring in record number of new voters and to raise more money than any candidate in history. The problem with relying heavily on big ticket donors is that sooner or later you max out on the amount that they can contribute and then where are you. By the time Hillary started to heavily rely on the internet as a source of funding, he was already so far ahead. People are constantly saying he has no experience and Hillary started out using this as her platform. All the time voters are looking around saying well currently between Bush & Cheney week have almost a half century of experience and where has that gotten us--I think I'll listen to what the new guy has to say. As much as we don't want to admit it there were things said by both Hillary & Bill that should not have been said. Then the press would not have anything to use to discredit her. The other thing was over playing the negativity associated with the Rev Wright videos. This initially cost him a few elections, but they overplayed it so much that by that time people became so sick of it that they started to feel sympathetic toward Obama and viewing her as negative. Hillary soon noticed that this was costing her votes and decided to change her message from one of white house ready but rather a candidate of the common man. Champion of women causes. Many of us got behind her even more because she started to speak a message that finally spoke to us. Unfortunately by this time Obama's message had resonated with his supporters so deeply that he had built up an insurmountable lead. Her comeback while substantial we were running out of time. Many of us want to blame for the decisions made by the DNC when nothing can be further from the truth. I followed this with such closeness that I knew unless she received the amount of delegates she did from FL and all of the delegates from MI not just the 73 she earned but his uncommitted ones as well she was not going to win this. I was initially angry about the 4 delegates given to Obama, but after learning behind the scenes he actually had the majority of support to demand a 50/50 split and did not, I quickly calmed down. Because I know that in order to win this she would need the help of 80 to 90% of the remaining superdelegates along with winning both Montana & South Dakota in order to pull ahead. I soon came to the realization that this was not going to happen. I also know from an insider that some of the people that Hillary had negotiating for her and some of the protesters only served to further alleniate the DNC. There was too much demanding and not enough compromising. There were some supporters captured on video seemingly out of control and embarrisingly rude. Obama's representative because of his request were viewed as calm level headed and willing to compromise and that also made the difference. Not only did the superdelegates leave the meeting thinking less of Hillary and her supporters but the world having been watching this very closely started to buy into this as well. While a lot of us are still angry and emotions are still raw, we have to stop and think about the woman that we say we love, she desires to have a political future. If you are too stubborn to think that she does not need the democratic party going forward--think again. She is not going to ruin all that she has worked so hard for by going independent or Republican, according to her this is not something she believes in. I am also not going to sacrifice myself and vote for McCain just to spite Obama. I have had enough of a republican run economy. I want to see Hillary continue to have a bright future in Washington and I want the best future that my kids that life has to offer and that is not John Mccain

Unknown said...

It truly amazes me how in anger we are allowing ourselves to be used like puppets by John McCain, who until final primary results night, would have never even dared to have pubicly called Hillary his friend--pleeeeze. Instead of taking a minute and allowing ourselves to grieve--we are allowing them to dictate to us how we should feel and how we should handle those feelings. Think rationally people, why do you think that McCain never really focused his attacks durig the primaries on Hillary--because once he saw that Barack had become the front runner, he had to try whatever he could to eliminate him as the candidate. He did not want to compete against him. Do you think that Rush Limbaugh and the other Republicans encouraged fellow Rebublicans to vote for her to be nice or just because they hated Obama. Hell -No they knew what plans McCain had for Hillary once they made it to the general election. It is so easy to blame the other person because it is too painful to face the truth. McCain and the rest of the republicans are cropping up all over the internet stirring this thing up and using us as pawns. Not focusing on caucus states cost us quite a few delegates that would have made the difference in this election. We can believe what we want but we know deep down it is true As much as we don't want to admit it there were things said by both Hillary & Bill that should not have been said. Then the press would not have anything to use to discredit her. Initially having people in charge of her campaign that were giving her bad advice cost her. Once she made the necessary changes, the tide started to turn.

It truly amazes me how in anger some refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. It is so easy to blame the other person because it is too painful to face the truth.

I think it is Obama supporters who need to face the truth which is hard because there really wasnt much truth at all to the Obama camapaign and if truth were the central issue Obama would be a trivia question now and not the product of an inept democratic leadership and super delegates who were more political cowards than super anything.

It is Obama supporters who have been played as puppets by Obama and the news media. He is an unmitigated disaster as a candidate and without a doubt the most meager and unqualified person ever to run.His being black has no imapct for Clinton voters who do not see race as a qualification which seems to have been the drivinf force behind his candidacy.

His actual qualifications are zero, his lack of character is a 100 and his abilities which aside from self promotion are nothing. He is a 100% fake as a Presidential candidate and given the dishonesty of the Obama side of the party, their fears of losing, the ineptitude of Pelosi and Dean, the short circuiting of the process, and the simple fact that super delegates ignored the will of the majority, none of it is going to be supported by the majority of Democrats who dont want him and 18 million Clinton voters will not vote for him or support the party with Obama as the candidate. the majority is not going to have him shoved down their throats to fill a false set of expectations, and if the Democratic party and the people responsibile for this fiasco need a lesson by suffering the worst defeat at the polls in Democratic history then its they who will have to take repsonsibility for it and face the painful truth.

For me it can never be a vote for McCain.

Well la-di-do!

For ME, it will never be Obama. Not MY vote.

Please take your condescending self to the Obama blogs with the rest of the hypocritical, lying, cheating, stealing and arrogant Obama supporters. And leave the "bitter" Hillary supporters alone.

Be quiet.

McCain is TERRIFIED to face Hillary in November.

The Clintons' dirt is chewed meat - the flavor's been gone a LONG time ago. The GOP would only look extremely desperate to bring up old Clinton dirt. It's too well-known that they have hated the Clintons for almost two decades. They survived anyway.

Obama by contrast is FRESH MEAT. He's been selling himself as the "second coming." And the GOP is going to have a damn ball exposing his true self - that will go well beyond what he exposed about himself in his book.

Lastly, don't act now like you and other Obama supporters give a damn about "unity" - when the Obama spawn turned on the Clintons and their supporters like vipers. Now suffer the consequences for your actions.

Obama's may have stolen the nomination, but he's not going to pimp us for our votes!

As soon as the NH primary was called for Hillary, Obama supporters were on MSNBC talking about the Bradley Effect. I couldn't believe they would say that, because in doing so they were calling Hillary supporters racists. This was just the beginning of the most divisive Primary Race in my lifetime. It has just gotten worse as time has gone on. His supporters have been vile in their hatred of Hillary and Hillary's supporters. We should all send the DNC a message and vote for McCain.

Personally, I don't think Obama has a chance against McCain - especially when all those terrorist buddies of his (Ayers, Auchi, Odinga) and corruption pals (Rezko, Chicago thugs) and anti-America and whites (Wright, Pfleger) people on his camp get national play instead of just cable (which has less than a few million viewers). People will run to McCain who will win in a landslide against Obama (I predict at the least, Dukakis-style, at worse, McGovern-like loss).

And this is without Hillary supporters defecting. I think McCain can win just based on what is already out there about Obama, and with just Republicans and Independents. But given that the last two elections were so close:

2000 - Gore got about 500,000 more votes.
2004 - Kerry lost by about 2 million votes.

If even just 1/7th of Hillary's supporters defect to McCain (estimates put it closer to double that at about 30% and in crucial swing states) - I think it will be the biggest presidential loss ever. Should be fun to watch the DNC burn for their un-American ways of overturning the voters' will.

If McCain is such a brilliant (wow it is scary even typing that) shue in for the Nov election then why are his minions creating new sites all over the net in the name of angry Hillary supporters just to use them get your oh so overly qualified candidate a victory in Nov. The problem is that now you have them banking on a win for Hillary in 2012 when you know that old geezer is not going to let go that easily. Afterall once again, we endured Mr 29% approval rating GWB for 8 years didn't we. BTW, did you happen to catch McCain on final primary (well you can't exactly call it a speech)more like the most embarrasing display of incompetance ever witnessed. He really thought he was going to steal some of Hillary's and Barack's thunder. CNN was so embarassed for him they finally had to put him out of his misery and cut him off. I mean who is advising this guy. First he shows up in New Orleans--the very place where he signed off on denying the victims of Katrina federal aid. Then Mr Brillance himself shows up in Florida touring the very everglades he denied support to as well. The truth is Barack ran an outstanding and well organized campaign. So much so that the media is still bragging about it. Many made fun of his "Change you can believe in" platform but he never wavered, after racking up quite a few victories even I had to pay attention to him. Apparently McCain did as well since he took to the internet to raise funds and now he uses the word change every other sentence(which sounds pretty stupid) and he has even adopted his new slogan "A Leader We Can Believe In" sound familiar. So you just go right ahead and keep calling Barack a racist, bringing up Rev Wright, calling him a muslem, associating him with criminals and terrorists if you like because come Nov you will be calling him President Obama

Well I beg to differ, chewed meat or not this is 8 years later and a new set of voters have come into play, so trust me McCain had plans to rehash, add some newly acquired material and make up some more along the way. After Barack's 11 primary victorys in a row McCain could not figure out what was happening but he did not want to mess with that. He knew how to use the same old political slander to try to discredit Hillary, that is why he wanted Barack out of the way.

You ever wonder why McCain never really mentioned Hillary at all during the primarys. Well it's because according to some of his supporters
" Even when Clinton attacks McCain, President Bush or GOP policies, the response is either outright silence or snarky, dismissive ridicule about a failed campaign barely relevant enough to merit a response. "

“With ads like that, it’s more likely the call at 3 a.m. is ‘Senator, you just lost another superdelegate,’” quipped McCain adviser Steve Schmidt earlier this month when Clinton aired a version of her “3 a.m.” ad attacking McCain on the economy. “[Obama] is still is clearly the front-runner for the Democratic nomination,” notes GOP strategist Brian Jones, a former top aide on McCain’s campaign. “The math is still clearly in his favor, he leads in fundraising and has the energy in the party behind him. So it makes sense.”

The Republican attacks mirror private disdain for Obama that, while still far from Clinton hatred at its zenith, is rapidly intensifying. The view among McCain aides and other Republicans is that Obama has gotten a free ride from the press despite what they see as a record of little substantive accomplishment.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9964_Page2.html

McCain had better be careful though because his over zealous supporters and attacks on Obama can easily lead to retaliation and the rehashing of videos of him laughing in the backgroud while one of his supporter called Hillary a bitch will not sit too well with the women folk while he is trying to convince them that he cares about them. Then there is the rehashing of the George Bush destroyer the old McCain affair. Now once again women folk might not take to kindly to a man who cheats on his crippled wife because her injuries caused here to gain weight. While at the same time pursuing his current much younger and wealthier wife, and eventually leaving the 1st wife and 3 kids for the new model. Now yeah Bush slammed him with this during the primary's along with the drug use, but as I said we have added a new set of voters. And as you reminded me this time instead of the primaries it would be on a more national level Would you like me to go ahead and mention all of the new stuff now as well--nah. Afterall McCain did say that he was running a different kind of campaign this time around so I won't go there. Afterall where I come innocent little kids and handicapped spouses trumps angry pastors any day

Wow - how naive and stupid are the last two idiots' posts on this blog? You can so tell these guys have no understanding or knowledge of history - that people who were alive just 8 years ago under the Clintons would have no recollection of the slime the Republicans did to them and that were disproven?

You DO know that the majority of voters fall into the 40+ age range? That young people didn't even vote in large enough numbers for people to care even when they were being drafted? My goodness - pick up a history book once in a while. At the very least - wikipedia McGovern (whose name you should become familiar with as Obama will surely beat him in terms of the biggest presidential loser in history!), Dukakis, Mondale, Carter, Gore, Kerry - all viewed as being too liberal and out of touch with average Americans. And most of these guys actually served and fought for our country! Obama? People still seriously question if he even LIKES America or wants to overthrow it and institute a Socialist regime! And his wife's snarky comments don't help, neither does those of his 20-year relationships with Wright/Pfleger/Ayers/Rezko and Marxist doctrines or his machete-wringing "kill-all-Christians" and institute Islamic law same-tribe-cousin Odinga in Kenya.

Nope - that doesn't calm American's valid fears concerning his inexperience, corruption, and poor judgment at the least, and possible anti-American and terrorist-sympathizing sentiments at the worse. So keep drinking the kool-aid and see America rise up and say no to Fascism by the DNC in November, just like they have for the last 40 years when the DNC nominates a radical left-winger. America comes first - as does its principles of democracy and counting every vote equally, and true Americans will make sure of that come election day.

Great article! The race card was played time and again forcing Senator Clinton to be on the defensive against unsubstantiated attacks! This has been the worst show of racism that I have seen in all my years on this earth. I don't think that the msm didn't see it - I think they chose to ignore and in most cases msnbc and cnn fanned the flames eagerly for their annointed one! Obama did not run a good race, he did not win enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee, he did not win the popular vote. What he did do was divide the party, bullied anyone that didn't agree with him, kept his unsavory ties with unsavory people (does anyone really believe that Rev. Wright is not still one of his favorite hang out people), insulted Senator Clinton and her supporters and forced 18 million people to have to make a choice between a rookie with terroristic ties who is even more liberal than Kennedy, or a republican. For me the choice is clear, for the safety of this country and the rest of the world, the republican looks pretty darn good!

When you've got nothing, blame the victim. That seems to have been the common thread from Obama supporters throughout the campaign. To label the Clinton's as racist was the lowest blow one could deliver.

How does one overcome that disgraceful and immoral charge? Many of us are now feeling the blowback since we have stated that we are not going to support the Obama candidacy.

Let those who hurled it live with the aftermath since this guy is unelectable overall.
